I just got the news from my Math teacher that I pased the course. Barely....But I still passed! I'm so happy!!!! *goes off to Party*
So I'm browsing around the net (now Math free) and I came across this. Anyone want to comment?
For people who aren't adept to clicking links, it's basically from a professor in Calgary by the name of Michael Keren (Canada, for those of you not familiar with Canadian Geography.) Professor Keren says that blogging is for people who are lonely, who have no friends, who are social deviants etc. I think it's pretty clear that this guy doesn't get the concept of blogging. I know I'm going to sound a bit.....I don't know how to say this....repetitive? Anyway, Blogging is about expressing yourself, about speaking your mind, about giving your views on things. This guy thinks that if you blog, you are completely socially inept. This is not true. I am not socially inept and I've an avid blogger. This professor thinks that if people blog that they will substitute reality. I really don't think that the virtual world will replace the real world. I challenge Prof. Keren to change his heavily biased opinion and actually attempt to blog for say, a period of 3 months. See if you become "socially isolated" anyway, that's my rant for tonight/this morning.
I think I'm starting to get this stuff. About time too. I was rudely awoken this morning by my mother. Went to the tutor who is n
ot a "math purist" like my math teacher. Came home. Went from about 10-9:30 with only about an hour's break in total. Tomorrow is going to be major crunch time as I have to go through both exams and study for Canadian History. On the upside, I get to go down to Kaisers for lunch (Kaisers=killer sub place) as well as sleep in. I'll be so glad when Wednesday afternoon roll's around. That's when I don't have to worry about bloody Math 11 ever again. Then I can actully get back to doing what I love: ranting, blogging on vox, actully having something of a life etc. I can't wait.In other me related news, I also purchased Thousand Foot Krutch' Absolute. Loving it. Thanks to Boredsvunut for the comments on the Punk/Heavy Rock. I'll check 'em out tomorrow
Crunchtime is upon me and I've been studying my brains out for my forthcoming Math exam. Unfortunely this gives me a large appatite that I must satisfy while studying. In the past several days, I have managed to find many odd and ends to meet this demand. Here are just a few:
Kraft Extra Creamy Peanut Butter
Gingerbread Snaps
A Large Sandwitch
1 2L Bottle of Red Cranberry
10 Quaker Granola Bars
1 Pitcher of Pink Lemonade
Numerous glasses of milk
2 slices of Pizza
6 Mini Toberlone bars
Numerous Chocolate Coins
Since it is only the midde of the week, this list is guarteed to get longer as time goes on. Exactly 1 week from today is my math exam. God help me.
So today was the the ubertest-athon. First test was first class of the day. I got most of the stuff. Only thing was that there was a question which I got really confused on. It's worth a fourth of the mark, so I hope I got at least half of it right. Other than that I think I did really well on that test. It was really. Providing that I get a decent mark on this test, I'll be out of the woods. Next weeks is all review and after that the exam. Providing I do well on that, I'm out. Done. I might do math 12. Might. If I think I can stand it, I will, but I really don't want to. I'll see. But after both of those tests had been finished I was just sitting around during lunch when the firebell goes off. Some idiot decided to light a garbage can on fire. Needless to say that after spending close to 30 minutes outside in th rain, I want to throttle said person if and when I do find him/her. Went back to Soc. Only had a few minutes left. Had a quiz I think I did quite well on and presented by model. It was a cake I had made with Mom. I think I did a good job on it. Had my free, came home and slipped into my PJ's since I was cold and wanted something nice to get into. Have to get out of them later though because I have to go get some wood. Ah well. TGIF! How was everyone's week? If you've guys have got time, throw a comment my way on how your week was.
My C. History class is a bunch of children. Now this may seem quite juvenile coming from somebody who has yet to met the age of majority (18/19) and is still classified a child by the majority of the country. Allow me to explain. As I have mentioned b
efore, I have a large amount of work to finish in the next weeks. (read:Continuing the Month of Hell) I had a C. History test on Sovereignty. It was supposed to be today, 3rd period. However, a small minority in the class started to whine and complain that they didn't know that material that was going to be on the test. There main argument was that due to the fact that the buses where not running on Tuesday, they didn't have there stuff to study. The teacher conceded this to be an extremely weak argument, and after giving these people a lecture, resheduled the test for tomorrow morning, second period. Right after my math test. Now, I'm not going to whine and complain and cry out the to blogosphere saying how it's not fair to the people who studied. I'm simply going to state that I am not happy that a small minority in a class of 40 students can push the test off because they are to lazy to bring the material home to study. Hence why I called my history class a bunch of children. What happens when they get a test in University that they haven't studied for. There not going to be able to go the professor and say to him in a sweet and/or whiny voice "I didn't study for the test can you please push it back to x? The professor will roll his eyes take two asprin and say no. Why? Because this is the real world. Things are set in stone. What's set in stone cannot be changed. And therefore, those people will be screwed. I'm going to glaze over the material tonight because I already know most of it, but if one of these people ever tries to pull a stunt like this again, I think I might explode. It's one of those days. You know where the School Board has no sense. It snowed for most of the night last night and I figured that s
chool would be canceled and I would get to stay home today. Well I was close. The school board pulled all of the buses off the road. And the majority of the students that go to my High school and the feeder schools are bused. So it effectively shut down the schools for the day.I had a free early this morning and after that I went into to rewrite a test. I was supposed to write it at lunch today, however since I was doing nothing during my socialogy class so I decided to write it then. It went well and I finished before the end of the period. I only missed maybe 15 points. So I think I did a really good job. I have another test on Friday and it should be a breeze. Anyway, I decided to come home due to the fact that there was nothing to do at school today. I'm just going to finish some Sociology work and just goof off for the rest of the afternoon. I see that the group that I created last night called Geeks has grown in the past 12-16 hours. I invite anyone that fits into the geek category to join!Today is the start of a month on the grindstone as I'm going to call it. Why? Well first of all, because I have exams. Only 2 mind you
but one is a math exam and if you've been reading this blog since September, you know that I HATE math and that I suck at it. Second thing is that I have a test to rewrite in math. So I'm trying to get this test rewritten as well as balancing the current math unit and my other subjects, although they're not as much of an issue at the moment. Mom is limiting both my computer and TV time so I'll try to get a post or two in each day, but I'm going to spending most of my time studying for exams etc. Hopefully I should be getting my components in the next few weeks and I'll post about that as soon as I get them and set them all up, but other than that, It's going to be a slow month on this blog as I go through the painful, albeit necessary process of midterm examinations. So that's another check mark down the list. My math assigment that I have to pass in Tomorrow is done. The essay, that is supposed to be 1,000-1500 words is 1800 words. Then I also have a 7 slide Powerpoint that as well. Now Monday is the crunch day. I have two tests, one in Canadian History 11 (easy) and another in Sociology (also easy) as well as a small Soc. assigment (ditto) So most of the hard work that was "hard" is out of the way. I just have to get that Powerpoint done in about an hour and then study Soc and Canadian History for a few hours and I'm good.
Another thing. My parents are no longer going to New Brunswick this weekend. Apperently my grandmother thought she couldn't handle the trip, so she decided not to come. So Mom, Dad and company are no longer going to drive 6 hours to go to a funeral. That means everything is back to normal. No going to grandparents and suffering through Dial-up hell. Don't get me wrong, I love my grandparents, but I hate Dial-Up.
Anyway, I need to get to bed, school tomorrow n' stuff.
I'm home for Free Block tomorrow, So I'll post then.
Got 3 of my tests back that I wrote in the past several days. I wrote my Math test yesterday and got the results back today. I got a 60 out of 100 on this test which is better than the 19 I got on the last test. The better mark is probably
due to the fact that I have an awesome tutor which I go to see once I week and everything makes sense now. So that's the math, I also got my Sociology and Canadian History tests back today. I got a 80 on my Sociology test which I'm happy with, which I basically winged half of it (don't tell my mom that.) And the same with my Canadian History test which I got an 82 on. I'm very happy with my test scores, considering I thought I had failed one or more of the tests. See, I had a lot of work to do last week when I had several tests and projects within several days of each other and I can only split an hour so many ways. But I got good marks on all of my tests and I think I did well on my math assignment and Sociology presentation I did yesterday, so my marks should be heading up. I told Mom when I got home and she was quite happy with the results of my tests.Second thing is that I would like to wish all of my friends on Vox who are writing NaNo Wrimo good luck. Especially Boredsvunut and MainMor. I wish both of you luck in your endevour this month as you write a 50,000 word novel. Bored, I hope you don't drive me crazy and Mor, I hope you don't drive your family crazy. I might try it next year when I get more of knack for writing. Good Luck!
That's it for October, Here's Comes November and then December, egads, then 2007!
